Description

The VARINA table represents the women called “VARINAS” from the lands of Var, now known as Ovar – a city in Portugal. They left by train for Porto and Lisbon with a basket on a wheel on their heads, to sell fish. With cork as the base material, the table has a wheel that supports the top and represents the artifact that facilitates the transport of the basket on the head. The wheel is a small circular pillow made with hand-interlaced felt waste.

Materials: Natural and recyclable composite light cork; felt waste from the Portuguese hat making industry in ‘grumpy black’, ‘deep blue’, ‘hot red’ or ‘scared blue’ and flower pattern or arrow pattern.

Finishings: Colorless aqueous coating in the cork, with water, oil, stain and dust repellency properties, as well as high resistance to UV rays and aging.

Custom: Arranged with the client.

Shipping Policy

Our lead-time is 4 to 12 weeks (excluding transport) depending on the product, after receipt of payment/adjudication.
For pieces with custom features or for large quantities we reserve the right to agree with the client the time of delivery.

We deliver to UK within five to ten working days. The shipping costs depend on the location. The delivery method is determined based on the size and weight of the items in your cart when proceeding the order.

Our standard delivery provides you with a 24 hour, fully trackable service to your front door (Monday-Friday) from our delivery partners CTT, DPD, DHL, UPS and DSV depending on the size and weight of the items.

All our international orders through the Webshop are shipped according to the Incoterms® 2020 standards and typically travel by the Delivered At Door (DDP) term.

We strive to deliver your order as quickly as possible and the delivery time is stated on the product page. If your order contains products with different delivery times, your order will be delivered at the larger lead time.

If the packaging is damaged or bears other visible signs of defects, only acknowledge receipt on the consignment note subject to any damage to the contents or refrain from receiving the item and ask the driver to take it back.

Please be advised that the product(s) will require unpacking and inspecting for any faults or damage within 3 working days of receipt from DAM. Failure to do so may result in additional costs to replace the damaged item.

Missing items must be reported instantly to DAM through the email contact@damportugal.com


 

Refund Policy

Refund:
No returns will be accepted without written consent from DAM. Unauthorised returns will be refused at the client’s expense.

Where an item is labelled “made to order” this means that this item will be made specifically for you by the supplier. We are unable to offer refunds or exchanges for made-to-order items. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but rest assured, your item will be expertly crafted from the finest materials just for you.

Damages:
All products are carefully packed up and inspected prior to shipment.

All our deliveries are covered by goods in transit insurance. However, the refusal of damaged goods in no way relieves the purchaser from the responsibility of paying the goods. In case of visible damage occurs in transit, the delivering carrier should be immediately notified with initial notification of intent to file a claim.

Damage of any item should be reported to DAM via email within 72 hours after delivery. Photographic evidence of the damage must be included in the email and sent to webshop@damportugal.com

We will then advise how to move forward with the return of your product(s) to DAM and all damaged goods will be replaced.

When sending any item back to us, it is important that you save all the original packaging. Please make sure it is packaged as it was when it arrived with you. If the packaging was damaged, extra packaging may be required. Customer services are on hand to give guidance on this.

If you need to return an item because it’s faulty, or because of something we’ve done wrong, we won’t charge you for the return/collection.

The delivery time of the replaced product will be arranged with the client.

All the damaged or missing products will be replaced, so money will never be refunded.

Making an order implies that you accept the terms and conditions mentioned below: 

Products 

  • DAM products are manufactured and handmade in Portugal.

  • DAM products are made to order.

  • This allows attention to the detail and the customization of the products. .

  • The final dimensions may vary slightly.

  • Differences of colour and tonality can happen due to common changes of the natural materials, specially cork, wood, rope and straw. So we cannot guarantee the uniformity of the colours and tonalities. These changes and differences are not considered deffects. 

  • Regarding products with cork, few cork granules may be released as time goes by due to its natural characteristics. These variations are not considered defects.

  • Every lighting products include bulbs and a european plug. English plugs are available under request. 

 

Materials and Finishings

  • Samples of finishings are only representative and not an exact match of colour and tonality. 

  • Available options: DAM colour range – ‘cold white’, ‘warm white’, ‘light grey’, ‘elegant grey’, ‘grumpy black’, ‘hot red’, ‘luxury red’, ‘dry yellow’, ‘fond orange’, ‘retro pink’, ‘baby blue’, ‘shy blue’, ‘deep blue’, ‘sleepy green’, ‘soft green’, ‘quiet green’; . Colourless matt varnish and coloured matt varnish (DAM colours range) for the finishing of wood; 

  • Cotton rope available in ‘dry yellow’, ‘scared blue’, ‘quiet green’ and ‘fond orange’; 

  • Fabric by Gabriel (www.gabriel.dk) available in its all colour range under request. 

 

Customized products

  • Colours, dimensions or different finishings are possible at an additional cost that will be arranged with the client. 

 

Prices

  • The prices of this list don’t include transport costs.

  • These prices don’t include VAT or any other taxes. 

  • We reserve the right, without prior notice, to discontinue any product, change its features and price.

  • Samples of materials and finishings can be shipped at an additional charge.

  • Cardboard packaging is always included in our prices; however, if the client requires specific packaging, the price will be charged accordingly. 

 

Lead time

Freight 

  • Unless otherwise stated on the order, goods are collected by the carrier of the client’s choice. 

  • DAM can provide transport at an additional cost. 

 

Damages 

  • All products are carefully packed up and inspected prior to shipment. 

  • Client’s transport: . At the time goods are picked up by the client’s carrier, the title passes to the purchaser. Therefore, DAM is not responsible for any loss or damage in transit. 

  • DAM’s transport: Transport provided by DAM includes insurance. However, the refusal of damaged goods in no way relieves the purchaser from the responsibility of paying the goods. In case of visible damage occured in transit, the delivering carrier should be immediately notified with initial notification of intent to file a claim.

  • Damage of any item should be reported to DAM via email within 48 hours after delivery. A photographic evidence of the damage must be included in the email and sent to: contact@damportugal.com . 

  • All damaged goods will be replaced.

  • The delivery time will be arranged with the client.

  • Money will never be refunded.

 

Return Authorization

  • No returns will be accepted without written consent from DAM. 

  • Unauthorized returns will be refused at the client’s expense. 

 

Distribution Policy

  • We reserve the right not to sell, or continue to sell, to any dealer whose distribution or sales tactics result in a negative effect on our ability to compete and sell in a certain region. 

 

Warranty

  • All DAM products are guaranteed for a period of 3 years. It includes problems concerned with production or material faults. During this time we will repair or replace the products.

  • The warranty excludes all damages caused by improper usage, negligence or natural wearing out of the product.

 

Cleaning and Maintenance 

  • Frequent dusting of your furniture will help you to maintain the luster of varnish. Use a dry, soft cotton cloth.

  • Do not use abrasive detergent/cleaning product.

  • To protect the surface of the furniture, verify if the base of the object can damage the surface. Attaching felt pads to the bottom of the object can help to prevent scratches and dents as well.

  • Avoid the contact with hot surfaces. Avoid direct sunlight to keep the natural tonality of the materials. 

 

Order Terms 

  • The minimum order requirement depends on the products. Please check the price list to know the minimum quantities by product.

  • Exceptionally, when ordering to exhibit in store, the minimum first order should also include three different types of products.

  • Pro-forma payment is required.

  • All orders require a 50% payment on adjudication and the balance prior to dispatch date. We reserve the right to require a 100% payment in advance for the first orders.

  • All pieces are DAM’s property until payment in full is received.

  • Payment by check is not accepted.

  • When you order, please write down your name, address and Fiscal Number so that we can send the invoices as quick as possible.
